2024 EAGLE Student
I grew up in the area around Frankfurt, Germany, where I also completed my bachelor’s degree in Physical Geography. During my studies, I had the opportunity to write my bachelor’s thesis at The Boeing Company, which was a great experience, as it allowed me to gain practical insights into remote sensing applications beyond the academic setting. I’m particularly interested in using remote sensing to analyze the urban fabric that surrounds us. Understanding how cities evolve and function, and uncovering patterns we often take for granted, is something that excites me every day.
I chose EAGLE because of its strong connections to research institutions and the hands-on approach of its courses. Each class feels impactful, and I always come away with new skills and perspectives. Who knows, maybe this fascination will persist, and I’ll end up staying in academia after all.
Outside of my studies, I enjoy hiking and have recently started getting into bouldering. I also read a lot, mostly fictional stories where not much actually happens, yet somehow they still pull me in.
And of course, my favorite satellite has to be Sentinel-2. It may not be the most specialized, but it’s reliable, versatile, and always provides a great first look at any region I’m analyzing.
