Anita Dandekhya
2024 EAGLE Student
Hi, I am Anita from Nepal, a land-locked and geographically diverse country. I have a background in forestry, having completed my Erasmus Mundus Joint M.Sc. in Sustainable Forest and Nature Management from Bangor University and University of Göttingen, where I developed a strong interest in remote sensing and its applications in forest monitoring. During my master study, I had the opportunity to work with the LiDAR data to assess the above-ground biomass of Annapurna Conservation Area of Nepal. This has further strengthened my passion for applying remote sensing technologies in forest management and biodiversity conservation.
Through the EAGLE program, I aim to deepen my knowledge in remote sensing and geoanalysis along with the programming skills with a focus on applying these skills in forest monitoring, climate change adaptation, and ecosystem management. I am fascinated by the programming courses and excited to enhance my basic skills.
I look forward to collaborating with like-minded peers and gaining hands-on experience in remote sensing applications for environmental sustainability.
Apart from academia, I enjoy cooking and experimenting new recipes with friends and family. Besides, I love to explore new places.
