Luis David Almeida

Luis is from Cuba, the jewel of the Caribbean. He has a degree in Geography and did his research on paleoclimate and caves. After graduation, he started working at the Institute of Ecology and Systematics, where he specialized in geomatics applied to biodiversity, working on several national and international projects and scientific-technical services until 2017, when he started as director of the international project on adaptation to climate change “Manglar Vivo”, funded by the Adaptation Fund and implemented by UNDP.
His areas of expertise include: geology, speleology, karstology, geostatistics, remote sensing, geographic information systems, landscape analysis, landscape planning, ecological restoration, mangrove ecosystem, integrated coastal management and project management.
