Ariana Argüello Cordero
2022 EAGLE Student
Ariana is a space systems engineer. Her passion for exploration and space technology led her to complete her bachelor’s degree in Samara, Russia. She comes from Heredia, Costa Rica; by growing up in a small Central-American country that accounts for 6% of the earth’s biodiversity from a very young age she had been deeply connected with nature and exploration.
She got interested in remote sensing for environmental applications while working on her final research project. Her bachelor’s thesis was related to the proposal of a CubeSat mission for the mitigation of environmental disasters. With the EAGLE program, she aims to acquire knowledge about the different applications and capabilities of open-source databases and how they can benefit different regions of the world.
She is interested in how this technology is helping to better understand and take care of our planet and its resources. She likes to exercise and enjoys long runs and Thai boxing. She loves to dance different styles of Latin dance. She is a natural explorer always looking to get in touch with different cultures, learn languages and discover new places. She shares her motivation and passion for space technology with her own podcast “Lunatica”.
