Verena Stegmaier
2021 EAGLE Student
Verena comes from a small town next to the beautiful city of Würzburg and studied Geography at the University of Würzburg.
During her bachelor’s program she gained first experiences in the field of remote sensing and later set her focus on that topic for the rest of her studies. During internships she learned more about the different application fields of remote sensing and is currently a working student at the RIWA GmbH.
During her years of studying, she became very aware of the importance of remote sensing in environmental issues and learned about the many possibilities it offers. She is especially interested in the fields of risk and disasters management and landcover analysis.
Verena always enjoyed living in Würzburg, which is why the EAGLE program felt like the perfect choice to continue her studies. She is very excited for the next years and looking forward to expanding her knowledge by learning even more about the handling of remote sensing data.
Because of her creative streak Verena loves to draw, knit, make music, and do other handicraft works in her free time. For some calming hours she also likes to read, do some yoga and take long walks along the Main.
