Svenja Dobelmann
2021 EAGLE Student
Svenja comes from Lemgo, a small town located in the North-West of Germany.
She did her bachelors in Geoecology at the University of Potsdam, with a focus on geoecological modelling and environmental statistics. During her studies she had the chance gain deep academic insight into a wide variety of topics in the field of natural sciences and ecology.
Her passion for remote sensing was awakened during a semester abroad at the University of Patras in Greece where she had the chance to enroll in a course on remote sensing of the marine environment.
working as a student assistant at the Reiner Lemoine Institute in Berlin, she gained further experience with satellite data, analyzing influencing factors for the air quality of Berlin.
Svenja joined the EAGLE Master because she is confident that remote sensing methods are a great tool to face existing and upcoming environmental challenges.
With the program she wants to deepen her skills in programming and data sciences.
In her free time, she loves to go for outdoor activities like cycling or hiking as well as gardening her own vegetables. Furthermore, she is interested in music and arts.
