Vanessa is from a town close to Heidelberg and studied Geography at the University of Heidelberg. Her interest in remote sensing began during her studies abroad at Oregon State University (USA) which she followed with a strong interest in remote sensing and GIS in her bachelor studies. To learn more about remote sensing she decided to study the EAGLE Program. She also has a strong interest in natural hazards and the human interaction with the environment which is why she wants to find out how remote sensing can contribute to these topics.

In her free time Vanessa loves to do sports, meet friends and explore the world. During Corona she realized that she can explore the environment close by in a new way too.
