Rutendo is from Harare, Zimbabwe. She studied Geography and Environmental Management in South Africa at the University of Kwazulu-Natal and North West University. During her time at North West University she found her love for GIS and remote sensing, where she focused on time-series analysis. She has previously worked at an architect company and was a volunteer at a waste management NGO. She decided to join EAGLE as she is interested in using remote sensing in urban development, agriculture and animal movement as she believes that these advancements can greatly help her country develop.

Her favourite hobby during corona was snorkeling and hiking as she was lucky enough to be on a Caribbean island with very little cases before joining EAGLE. In her spare time, she loves to cook and go on hikes.
