Nora Nieskens
2020 EAGLE Student
Nora is from Celle in Germany and studied Geography at the University of Kiel with a focus on hydrology, coastal dynamics and GIS. From the first contact with Earth observation, she has been enthusiastic about its great potential to face worldwide environmental issues like climate change. She is particularly interested in land surface dynamics and natural hazard assessment. As a student assistant, she has already worked intensively with hydrological modelling and flood risk analysis. During an internship at EFTAS GmbH, she dug deeper into the application areas of remote sensing and decided that the international, application-oriented EAGLE master is just right for her.
In her free time, she engages in EGEA (a network of European geography students) for organizing cultural and scientific exchange. Further, she loves to lose her creative energy, be it in the arts, music or theatre, and whilst going out to explore the world.
