Sharmin is from Kishoreganj, Bangladesh. She completed her graduation in Disaster and Human Security Management from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). During her bachelor years, she found remote sensing and GIS a fascinating tool for sustainable environmental management. She wants to utilize the advanced knowledge of remote sensing and GIS in natural resource management, risk and vulnerability assessment and marine science. She had worked and volunteered in climate change projects in a research organization. She wishes to be a researcher as well as an academic to make a greater impact.
Growing up in a scenic delta made her a nature lover. She loves natural sightseeing but during corona times she spent most of her time on hobbies such as poem recitation, reading and in garden near to nature. She loves writing and, in that pursuit, she has written a short story anticipating climate change impact on earth titled “Ice Age”.
