Jana is from Friedrichshafen at the beautiful Lake of Constance in Germany and studied Mathematics at the University of Würzburg. Choosing Geography as a minor subject she got in touch with Remote Sensing and found her most interesting application of the yet sometimes dry mathematical theories. After graduation she gained experience in data management as well as business, but still felt the strong enthusiasm for developing more skills in earth observation and related environmental topics. Joining the EAGLE program, she can finally apply data analysis to ecologically meaningful data and hopes to support different projects in conservation and ecology.

In the two years she lived in Cologne she developed her love to gardening and growing her own food. Besides that, she likes trying out different kinds of handcrafting from sewing over cooking to building her own piece of furniture, which all did not suffer from the Covid-19 circumstances.
