Cornelia Zygar
2020 EAGLE Student
Cornelia comes from Bielefeld and studied Geoinformatics at the University of Münster. Before her Bachelor studies, she did a voluntary ecological year with Naturschutzbund Deutschland (NABU) in Schleswig-Holstein. The experiences gained in that year strengthened her interest and awareness in environmental and conservation issues. During her Bachelor she had first experiences in the topic of remote sensing. Also, she did an internship at the Alfred-Wegener-Institute where she deepened her interest in remote sensing and its applications in the context of environmental change analysis. She believes that remote sensing is a great tool to tackle recent and upcoming challenges for the society and the environment.
In her free time, Cornelia loves taking care of her numerous houseplants and spends a lot of time outside hiking or inline skating. During Corona, she started learning to play the guitar and doing yoga with her flatmates. Not to be forgotten is her great passion for cooking vanilla pudding.
