Md Tawhid Hossain

2018 EAGLE student

Md Tawhid Hossain comes from Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his BSc and MSc in Soil, Water & Environment at the University of Dhaka. His courses encompassed a major array of topics in soil and environmental sciences. In continuation of learning, he did a second master’s degree in Physical Land Resources: Soil Science at Ghent University, Belgium. There, he theoretically and practically learned GIS and remote sensing data analysis using different software. During his MSc, he realized that besides in-situ and physical-chemical laboratory analysis of soil and landscapes, GIS and remote sensing are going to be one of the most powerful instruments for studying land and agriculture. In this context, he chose to join the EAGLE master program in order to deepen his knowledge on the application of remote sensing and GIS in the field of agriculture and wetland systems.

In his spare time, he likes to play football, roam around nature sites and click his camera. In 2012, he founded EnvironmentMove.com, an environmental web-magazine, and has been continuing as an editor.
