Sandro Groth
2018 EAGLE student
Sandro Groth (23) comes from a small town in the Bavarian Alps. For his Bachelor he moved to Munich where he studied Geography and Computer Science at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität. There he got in touch with Remote Sensing and Geoanalysis. In his Bachelor thesis he focused on evaluating the potentials of roof greening in urban areas for urban climate improvements based on remote sensing data. After his studies, Sandro did an internship at ESRI where he gained experience in programming with Python. Currently he is working for them as a student assistant besides the EAGLE Master.
Sandro joined the EAGLE program to improve his remote sensing skills, especially on how to automate analysis using programming languages like R or Python and apply them to climate monitoring.
In his spare time, he loves to go bouldering or doing other mountain sports as well as playing rock guitar and bass in a band.
