2018 EAGLE student
Martin Koenig (23) was born and raised in Ulm in southern Germany. He received his bachelor’s degree in Nature Conservation and Landscape Planning from the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. He completed an internship at the Bavarian Forest National Park in the field of wildlife biology. Currently he is working as a GIS technician for an engineering office.
During his bachelor studies, he found the modern field of remote sensing fascinating and quickly realized the incredible opportunities it has to offer. He chose the EAGLE program because it addresses a variety of very relevant topics that will teach him skills needed to confront the impending demands in that field. His special area of interest is the application of remote sensing in disaster management and security issues.
In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, climbing in the mountains and music.
