Jakob Rieser
2018 EAGLE student | Member of the Students' Board
Jakob Rieser (20) comes from a village in the Bavarian Forest and likes skiing, longboarding, playing the drums and all kinds of other percussion instruments in his free time.
He studied Geography at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg for his bachelor’s degree, where he specialized in Physical Geography and Remote Sensing. During this time and until today he has been a tutor for Remote Sensing lectures and seminars for Bachelor students.
He is convinced that Remote Sensing is and will be playing a big role in solving a huge variety of geographical and environmental problems which will make the world a better place. So he joined the EAGLE program to deepen his knowledge of the different fields of Remote Sensing and to gain all the necessary GIS and programming skills. He appreciates the wide range of topics, the focus on application and practice as well as the familiarity the program provides. Also, the huge network of national and international partners, like the collaboration with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), is providing huge opportunities for the students.
