Christabel Edena Ansah
2018 EAGLE student
Christabel Edena Ansah is a Ghanaian and graduate from the Department of Geography and Rural Development, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana. There, she completed a four-year Bachelor degree programme in Geography and Rural Development with Economics as a minor.
It was during the third year of her undergraduate studies that her interest in remote sensing grew. Her undergraduate thesis, The Role of GIS in Fire Risk Reduction: A Case Study of Kumasi Central Market, caused her to develop that interest and formed her decision on choosing a master’s degree programme in the field of Remote Sensing as EAGLE.
Her research interest is the application of geospatial science in assessing environmental hazards and disaster risk reduction. It is her goal to help reduce the risk and vulnerability that mankind faces, especially in the less developed and developing countries. Hence the need to deepen her studies to make this dream come true.
