2018 EAGLE student
Basil Tufail (24) comes from the city of Lahore in Pakistan. With a previous bachelor’s degree in Space Sciences from the Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad, he has a good background in remote sensing. In his bachelor thesis he worked on SAR data for rapid flood mapping where he developed an automated process for inundation mapping. Later, he worked as a remote sensing expert at ADDO AI, an artificial intelligence company based in Singapore where he worked on different techniques for precision agriculture and indexes for crop health.
He joins the EAGLE program with the aim of acquiring the right skills for applying remote sensing in the field of agriculture and water management which are big issues that Pakistan faces.
