Sophie Gertz (22) comes from Coburg and studied Geography at Kiel University. During her Bachelors she spent one year studying at Swansea University, Wales. Besides travelling Sophie likes doing sports like handball and swimming.

She joined the EAGLE Master Program to improve her remote sensing skills for geographical problem solving. In her Bachelor Sophie focussed on climate and coastal regions. She is therefore especially interested in the application of remote sensing for climate modelling / monitoring and managing coastal areas. She also plans to focus on natural hazards related to these fields.
