Hi, I’m Clemens, originally from a small village near Würzburg. I studied surveying and geoinformatics for my bachelor’s degree at the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Würzburg, and worked as a surveyor during my studies. During my studies, I became more and more interested in remote sensing, which led me to write my bachelor’s thesis on this topic. Now, the EAGLE programme seems to be the perfect opportunity to broaden and deepen my knowledge in remote sensing.

I’m particularly interested in using satellite imagery to capture and analyse the impact of current political and geopolitical events and decisions. Specifically, I am currently working on various issues related to the Russian attack on Ukraine.

Outside of my studies, I am really into sports – I enjoy jogging, swimming, and going to the gym. I’m also a big fan of winter sports; a few days of skiing every year is a must for me.

Travelling is another great passion of mine, and my list of future destinations keeps growing. I’m always planning new trips and I also enjoy active vacations, like a surf trip which I did two years ago. I’m actually looking forward to taking a kitesurfing course as soon as possible. After all, I’ll need a well-paying job in the future to fund my plans! 🙂
